<i>Step aside Spielberg and Scorsese, because there are some new boys behind the camera – four teenagers from Milton Keynes.
Alex Davies and Jonny Cade, both aged 15, Miles Roberts, aged 17, and 14-year-old Dean Guinnane took part in a project to make a short film working alongside a professional cast and crew, thanks to a lottery grant.
And their ten-minute production, called Graveyard, will premiere at a special screening at Cineworld Milton Keynes - Wednesday 1st sept in the evening.
Joe Murphy, from The Complete Works Theatre Company, who ran the project, said: "Every shot you see was filmed, had the camera operated or the sound equipment used by one of these guys.
"It was a really good opportunity for them, because they learned how to use all the equipment and work as a team.
"And it wasn't just simple things they were doing, they did all the complicated and technical tasks on set as well and did a really good job."
Bancroft Park based charity Complete Works Theatre Company received £4,500 grant from National Lottery funding programme Awards for All to make the film, giving teenagers the chance to work on a film set who wouldn't normally get that opportunity.
The black comedy was filmed in North Loughton Valley Park and took just a day to shoot.
And the teenagers worked alongside a professional crew whose credits include Shaun of the Dead and Footballers Wives.
After tomorrow's premiere, Joe plans to enter Graveyard in film festivals around the world.
"It is very expensive to make a film. Most people can't afford to spend thousands of pounds on going to film school and that's the only time they would be able to get their hands on this equipment and learn from other people's experiences. It's a valuable opportunity for them and I'm pleased we were able to offer it," said Joe, who wrote and directed the film.</i>
