"Ima, ai ni ikimasu" (Japan,2004) will be release in Taiwan in April.

I notice the main boy actor, his name is Akashi Takei.

When two souls find one anoter , nothing can tear them apart. Widower Takumi (Shidou Nakamura) lives a quiet life with his six-year-old son Yuji (Akashi Takei) after the loss of wife and mother Mio (Yuko Takeuchi). Yuji unfailingly remembers her promise to him: "I'll be with you again in a year's time, when the rains come." On the first anniversary of her passing, Takumi and Yuji are taking a walk in the woods when they come across a woman sheltering from a monsoon downpour. She bears an uncanny resemblance to Mio, but has no recollection of who she is or what she is doing there. Family life resumes from where they left off, while Takumi and Mio's memories of their first encounter in high school come flooding back. However, their new life together is interrupted by the discovery of Mio's old diary, which reveals the secrets of her past and how they must say goodbye once more in six weeks time...

Thanks for this zork.

This is the first I've heard of this film, but I have added it to my wish list.

It's interesting that the trailer available at the official site, has a voiceover narration in English; I hope this means the producers are planning on releasing it over here.

DVD R3 can be ordered through (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) The information on the site does not mention English subtitles, so this may be problematic. The Korean version has 2 DVDs.

That remake has been in the works for years.

Jennifer Garner was presumably going to star in the remake since her company bought the rights, but she's way too old to play Mio.

Having just recently seen the movie, I don't think it's possible to remake this film faithfully for the American market....unless you can go back in time to the 1940's.
