Flama and Moko are fourteen years old; they have been best friends since they were kids. They have everything they need to survive yet another boring Sunday: an apartment without parents, videogames, porn magazines, soft drinks and pizza delivery. The electricity company, Rita, the neighbor, Ulises, a pizza deliveryman, eleven seconds, the Real Madrid-Manchester game, some chocolate brownies and a horrible painting of ducks, all combine to break the harmony of what promised to be a placid Sunday, and reveal issues such as the parents' divorce, loneliness, the confusion between adolescent love and friendship, as well as frustration in adult life. "Temporada de Patos" is a movie that shows that, when the lights go off, we can see the stars.

It's playing in a number of other US cities right now. IMDB lists Indianapolis, Atlanta, Tucson, Buffalo, and Salt Lake City and 11 other cities.

I saw this at a festival almost two years ago. It was awesome! Check it out if you get the chance. Similar to Jarmusch's films.

Okay... JK just said this was well worth watching (again), in a thread to a new film showing this Spring 2009.  So... I found my copy and I'm waiting for it to see what the hub-bub is all about!

Daniel Miranda... as Flama
He is called "Flama" because he has red hair.  But the movie is in black-and-white ... interesting ...

Diego Cataña ... as Moko

I just watched this.... I was impressed. Sure, it's back and white, which was interesting, and although there's not a lot of action, I was never really bored.  Of course, I was mostly watching Diego, who was watching Flama... It was interesting to see how the relationships all developed.  I suppose I'd be admitting to my American roots by saying that "I wish the end had revealed a little more" about Flama's decision.

Smiley I saw again this mexican movie. I liked very much the very good play of Diégo CATANO and Daniel MIRANDA in parts of Moko and Flama. My movie rating is 7/10.

This seems like a pretty cool movie. One of the most tempting parts of watching this for me would be to find out the result between the Real Madrid and Manchester United football match Wink

Directors use black and white film because they want the audience to focus on the characters instead of the surroundings! Cool

One of my personal favorite Monochrome movies is "The Nanny" with William Dix! Cheesy
