I watched this today... I can't recall having seen it before but I may have. I was somewhat disappointed because the film is rather uninvolving. About a group of boys who become infatuated with a young woman. They follow her about the town, spying on her and attempt to sabotage her romance with her boy friend.

It's well made and shows sign of typical Truffaut style but none of the boys are given any genuine acting to do. The story is told via narration. There is no central character or even any character development at all.  In conclusion, it's a very slight film which I wouldn't recommend to anyone apart from students of Truffaut's work.

None of the boy actors were credited.

Wow. This looks like a nice addition to Truffaut's legend.

[later] I placed the DVD of Truffaut's Shorts in my rental queue at Netflix. It has 2 short movies including this one. I'll be sure to wear my own shorts while watching.  Grin

This was Truffaut's second attempt at film-making, which was followed by an illustrious career in the authoring & directing of films.

"Les Mistons" is an overlooked gem of a short.
