Singapore, 2006

Not really a sequel to "I Not Stupid" from 2002:
Many of the same actors (how many actors are there in  Singapore, anyway?) but not playing the same parts.

Three boys,
Ashley Leong       ....      Jerry
Shawn Lee       ....      Tom
Joshua Ang       ....      Cheng Cai
(Tom and Jerry are brothers, ha ha)
Jerry is about 12, the other two about 15.

Many subplots, all stuck together...
Some very moving.  Some funny.  Some boring.
Their families, their schools, society in general (at least Singapore)... What's wrong with all of these.

Well worth seeing!

R3 DVD available from the usual places selling Asian movies.

I liked the cast of the first film but I'm rather appalled by the violent 'discipline' handed out by teachers and parents. I suppose the kids get beaten up by teachers and parents in this one too.  Sad

The only Jack Neo film I've seen so far is Homerun.

I am looking forward to catching up with both I Not Stupid films. I wasn't aware of this new film, thanks for the tip.
