Eleven year-old Derek Canton-Cryer's application to a middle school honors program is rejected. He decides to appeal by submitting a video essay in which he attempts to do a better job of revealing his true inner nature. While making the video, he learns much more about himself, his family, Death of a Salesman, and quantum physics than he ever could have imagined.

Very 'appealing', hosenhaus.

Thanks for the links.... its not listed as being available for sale, but perhaps it will find its way as an extra on a dvd.

Just got around to watching this...  it's pretty good. Very YouTube in its structure. Leo Levy certainly has a lot of appeal.

I agree.  It was a pleasure to watch.  And as far as I can tell, you can buy it from Jaman for $4.99 (or just watch it for free.  There's also a free "rental" for seven days, which downloads to your computer).  I don't know the format, yet, but I'm downloading Addison's Wall and will find out soon!

This one is certainly worth 4.99, (equivalent 3,79 euros).

If downloaded for free (7 days), does it somehow vanish after then?

It is a bit troublesome to think of things just vanishing from a personal computer, and how it must be set up to do so.

I'm very curious about that too. I wonder what would happen if you copied it to a blank DVD.

It's in a special format, only playable by the Jaman player.  It says it is an MP4 file, but when I play it with another player (even when it has not expired), I get only sound, no picture.

After the time expires, it stays on your hard disk (unless you delete it), but to play it you have to rent it again (or buy it).  And if you do, you don't have to download again.

I don't know if setting your clock back or some such trick would let you play something after its expiration date.

Thanks for the link to the jaman site Hosenhaus. I watched both this film and the British short Hero today.

Leo Levy has charisma I hope he gets cast in something else...soon.

I also noticed that jaman has a few other movies of interest available to watch. In the South Asian section the Indian film Rishtey. In the Latin American section Zurdo and Paper Dove (listed under its original title Paloma de Papel).

Thanks Hosenhaus!  I looked through Jaman and found a few downloads that seemed interesting.  I watched (and mentioned elsewhere) 'Hero' and 'Addison's Wall', and I downloaded "Zurdo" to watch as well.
