Here's a real obscure boy actor/singer whom I have just seen on YouTube in a 1956 version of 'A Christmas Carol'. Who has heard of
Christopher Cook who played Tiny Tim? I cannot find anything about him or even a picture to post but he was quite good looking and had a beautiful singing voice.
He appeared in an American TV production sponsored by Chrysler Cars which starred Frederic March as Scrooge and Basil Rathbone as Marley's ghost. I always like to come across obscure boy actors like this one so does anyone know anything about him?
This might be a good time to ask how I can download a still from a YouTube video?
I had not seen this version of A Christmas Carol. I really enjoyed it!
It's from the CBS Television Network show
Shower of Stars (1954–1958).
Quite a good musical and nice adaptation. Stars Paramount's leading man
Fredric March (two time Academy Awards winner)
who played up against such legends as Greta Garbo, Carole Lombard,
Claudette Colbert, Gary Cooper, and Cary Grant in the early days of the 'talkies'.
Also stars screen legend Basil Rathbone.
I had never heard of Christopher Cook either. He definitely has a great siniging voice.
Also little Jimmy Baird is credited as the 'Boy' whom Scrooge calls out of the window to
on Christmas morning, asking him what day it is. However, a screen cap of the
'Boy' sure doesn't look like (and he doesn't sound like) Jimmy Baird. I think Jimmy is still
around. Will look into it.
Here are some images of Christopher Cook:
