Got to see Luca Venantini in Aladdin (1986).

Here are some photos of him around the age of 15 or 16

Here are some images of Luca from the film
City of the Living Dead (1980).

The film is very gruesome and atmospheric.
Luca has a small but intense part in the film.

Here's a real obscure boy actor/singer whom I have just seen on YouTube in a 1956 version of 'A Christmas Carol'. Who has heard of Christopher Cook who played Tiny Tim? I cannot find anything about him or even a picture to post but he was quite good looking and had a beautiful singing voice.
He appeared in an American TV production sponsored by Chrysler Cars which starred Frederic March as Scrooge and Basil Rathbone as Marley's ghost. I always like to come across obscure boy actors like this one so does anyone know anything about him?

This might be a good time to ask how I can download a still from a YouTube video?   Smiley

I had not seen this version of A Christmas Carol.  I really enjoyed it!

It's from the CBS Television Network show Shower of Stars (1954–1958).

Quite a good musical and nice adaptation.  Stars Paramount's leading man
Fredric March (two time Academy Awards winner)
who played up against such legends as Greta Garbo, Carole Lombard,
Claudette Colbert, Gary Cooper, and Cary Grant in the early days of the 'talkies'.

Also stars screen legend Basil Rathbone.

I had never heard of Christopher Cook either.  He definitely has a great siniging voice.

Also little Jimmy Baird is credited as the 'Boy' whom Scrooge calls out of the window to
on Christmas morning, asking him what day it is.  However, a screen cap of the
'Boy' sure doesn't look like (and he doesn't sound like) Jimmy Baird.  I think Jimmy is still
around.  Will look into it.

Here are some images of Christopher Cook:

'bowser' I just knew you would come up with some clips from the film. I just love coming across an unknown boy actor, and even more if he's a singer as well, like Christopher Cook. Of course, there has to be a Tiny Tim in all versions of 'A Christmas Carol' but this one was a pleasant surprise. The very last scene has March with his arm around Christopher's shoulder and both of them smiling at each other. Had I been March I would've got Christopher to sing me some ditties ... privately ...  Shocked
I mean these boys are cast from nowhere and can be added to our 'obscure boy actors' list. I'm surprised the 'Boy' was even credited for in those days they didn't bother with endless credits like they do now.

ALL GOOD WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR!

I noticed that there was another boy we should know, playing Peter Cratchit:

I remember seeing the first broadcast of this on our new black and white TV set. I recall at the time thinking the show was just silly and that Fredric March was embarassing himself. But you must realize that in that year there had been at least 20 different versions of A Christmas Carol shown on television - everybody was doing it! It seemed as if just about every manufacturer of products in the U.S. sponsored a television anthology series, an original play every week, but in December 1954 almost all of them showed a version of this story. And it is a great story and I always loved it but by the time Christmas rolled around in 1954 many of us felt that there could be too much of a good thing.

That's the interesting thing, the part of the 'Boy' is not included in the opening or
ending credits of the show.

The credit of Jimmy Baird appears only at IMDb.  I'm pretty sure this is a mistake on
IMDb, but will have to check.

Back in that era, many times child actors were not credited (even if they had speaking
parts) unless of course they were one of the main characters.

Researching child actors from the early days can sometimes be very difficult because
of this reason.

2017 IS GOING TO BE A GOOD YEAR!

Thanks!  I completely overlooked him

I have several of his films in the archive.  Can't wait to get them out and
screen them.

The Red Pony (1949) with Myrna Loy and Robert Mitchum.  Directed
by two-times Academy Awards winner Lewis Milestone.

And I think I also have Who Killed Doc Robbin? (1948) from the
Hal Roach Studios.

Thanks again!
