One of the criminals has to befriend the two kids, get them to trust him, hoping to find out where they have hidden the stolen golden Buddha statue

He tells them he is a secret government agent, deputizes the kids to help him find the stolen goods, and has them call him "Captain"

With the exception of one photo, Byung-Oh looks like he can keep an expression that makes you feel like he's the only one that knows what is going on. 

The 'deputizing' of kids is quite an old idea, but perhaps not in South Korea. 

Looks very good.
