Fido: K'Sun Ray.

The film 'Fido' certainly has a change from the old formula of boy and his dog! This time it's boy and his zombie played uncharacteristically by Billy Connolly. However, more importantly, the film stars another of those obscure boy actors that usually hail from Canada and K'Sun Ray is no exception. Well, the kid's obscure alright and with a name like that I'm not surprised. Who gives a boy K'Sun for a first name?
However, the film is a hoot and set in fifties America where young Timmy has to put up with a neglectful father and a slightly eccentric mother. The time is after the Zombie Wars and I assume the fifties take is because of all the sci-fi B-movies they made at that time. So instead of the ubiquitous dog, Timmy has his own grown up zombie friend! The humour is kept going pretty well throughout though it's mixed with some quite horrific episodes. Overall, everything is played tongue-in-cheek.
I had never heard of this movie or K'Sun Ray who is a very able young actor at portraying a sad, winsome kid who needs a father's attention but gets a half dead playmate instead. It is directed by Andrew Currie and the DVD contains deleted scenes and bloopers. It is interesting to note that in the latter, Billy Connolly, who only growls during the film, still can't refrain from uttering the F word on set even in front of the boy.
'Fido' is just another of these little gems that I pick up every now and again in a cheapy shop.
Anybody seen it and could provide a pic of K'Sun?

Fido is a fun movie to watch. K'Sun Ray is adorable in this film playing a role that's different from his latter tv character.

Aside from K'Sun Ray , I also like Aaron Brown who plays the  bully role (Roy).
