Yes, as everyone said, it's from Knight Rider, the pilot episode, Night of the Phoenix, which is 2 hours long (double episode).  Barret stars as "Buddy".  KITT does some rather cheesy racing in that scene.   Cheesy

And even after all these years, I'd still like a Pontiac..   Grin

I helped a friend build a Kitt car once, it was actually a 1984 Pontiac, but looked as much like the original Kitt as we could make it! It didn't have the panning light on the front though, it had a mockup. Wink Smiley those Firebirds were still availible with V8s, my Sister had an 83 Firebird that had a Corvette 327 V8!
