Now, I'm wondering and hoping the Dash holds his youthful good looks as long as Ralph did Smiley
for sure with a face like that, he will go far in Hollywood! Cool

In case anyone is interested, my current profile picture is of the actor Wesley Barry, one of my favourite actors ever, who was in such wonderful movies as "The Country Kid" (1923). Here is the full size picture:

The picture is a detail from a photo I happen to own. Here is the full photo. I'm afraid I can't identify the other men he's with, though I'd love to know!

Wesley Berry was quite a big star back in the 1920's but I
don't think I've seen any of his films.  Will have to put him
in my search queue.

Wow, this is certainly one of our earlier boy actors. I have not seen any of Wesley Barry's films which would all be silent and probably lost by now. I like those 'plus-fours' boys used to wear in those days. I don't recognise any of he men, though the chap in the ill fitting coat with his arm round Wesley's shoulder ... well, there we are now. These are some pics I found of him. Looks like he was in one Western at least ....

Well, I've seen three or four of his films now. My favourite is probably "The Country Kid" (1923), where he plays Ben Applegate, the elder of three orphaned brothers struggling to stay together in the face of a do-gooding social services bureaucracy which insists on separating them and putting them 'into care' (nothing ever changes!), even though Ben is clearly quite capable of looking after his brothers by himself. The quality of the film copy I have is a little scrappy, but here are some caps:

Ben Applegate (Wes Barry, left) hugs close his brother Joe (Spec O'Donnell)

Close-up of Wes Barry

Ben (Wes Barry, centre) washes his brothers, Joe (Spec O'Donnell, left hand tub) and Andy (Bruce Guerin, right hand tub)

Interesting Diogenes I definitely want to check out some of Wes' films. Now about your photo of him... is he wearing long shorts, or short pants?  Cheesy

I don't have any of Wes Barry's films.  May have to go to the archive
to see some of his early work.

I would love to see his version of Penrod (1922)

Apparently these knickerbockers were the style at the time.
