'Young Dracula' was a BBC TV series made in 2006 and starred Gerran Howell as Vlad, son of Count Dracula. The family have moved to Britain from Transylvania and live in a castle above a village. He lives with his 'vampy sister, a servant who smells of mouse droppings, a talking wolf and a blood sucking father'.
I have the DVD of the first series which lasts for over 6 hours. It keeps up a reasonable standard of humour though the acting is somewhat stilted at times. It features Vlad, who's around 12, played by Gerran Howell who can still go out into the light and see his reflection in the mirror - until he's 16 anyway. That way he can attend the local school and try to make friends. I haven't yet seen all the episodes but it is entertaining enough. There is no listing of this TV series or of Gerran Howell on BA. Anyone know of this series?

I remember hearing about 'Young Dracula' but never got around to checking it out. I think I'll have to. Right now, I have started in on 'Game of Thrones' another seemingly endless mini-series from HBO. The chief attraction is this little guy:


Meanwhile, my own silliness and the ambiguities of the English language led me into a fit of giggles when I read this:
his 'vampy sister, a servant who smells of mouse droppings, a talking wolf and a blood sucking father'.

as if it meant this:
'his vampy sister who is a servant and smells of mouse droppings, a talking wolf and a blood sucking father'.

I should be OK again as soon as the weather changes.  Wink

Thanks a lot, 'Hosenhaus', for supplying the pics and especially the ones of Craig Roberts who plays Robin, Vlad's friend. I guess the series does get a bit silly at times but it was made for the BBC children's channel. It's just good to come across some relatively unknown boy actors.
'YoungArthur': I see what you mean about young Isaac Hempstead Wright. So that's both 'The Awakening' and 'Game of Thrones' to look into. You just can't keep boy actors down - they pop up all over the place. Smiley
