Lent: Graham McGrath.

'Lent' is a TV film that was broadcast by the BBC in 1984 and starred Graham McGrath. Long forgottten, I shouldn't wonder, it is taken from a stage play concerning Paul, a 13 year old boy staying at an empty boarding school over the Easter holidays. His only companions are four adults one of whom is Matey (Harry Andrews) the school's old janitor and odd job man. The plot mainly revolves around lonely Paul's friendship with the old man in whom he finds an ally against the problematic adults, especially the headmaster. 'Lent' is a gentle romp through a young boy's growing up period and set in idyllic sylvan surroundings in 1955. Graham McGrath plays his part very well, defiant to the headmaster but relaxed and typically boyish in the company of the understanding old man. It is all set against a background of some of Elgar's better music. I wonder if anyone has ever seen this TV production? I only possess a copy on disc from an old taped TV recording so the quality is not the best.

I saw Graham in Krull, which is a favorite of mine! Grin
But I can't say I've seen "Lent", but I'd like to, especially if it was about the same time as Krull! Cheesy

(oh, the things we used to rent on VHS, but that have never been issued on DVD...)

P.S. Lent was in the British TV series "Screen 2" ... Including that may help in searching for torrents and such things ...
