Jungle Book (2016)

Has anyone seen this yet??
It's beginning to look like Disney has produced a new filming of this story that may well become an honest-to-gosh movie classic. I have yet to read a negative review; most are raves.
And Neel Sethi looks to me, so far, to be the most charming Mowgli since Jamie Williams.
Here are caps from 2 Disney promos at YouTube:

EDIT - And here is a link to another Disney promo that I missed. There is much better caps potential here than what I posted above:

and here is yet another wonderful clip:

There are many more clips available than when I checked a couple nights ago. Disney is really pouring it on since the opening!

Haven't seen it yet, but I may go this weekend and spend a little extra to see it in IMAX, looks like a beautifully crafted film with an appealing star.

Obviously this is the number 1 boy actor film to go see at present although I usually wait for the DVD coming out and then only when the price goes down to a fiver.
Neel Sethi looks a great Mowgli and thanks, 'Young Arthur', for the stills especially as they are from the extras. I like Neel in pic 4 and, of course, every boy actor wants to peer down the camera viewer.

I saw it. It's AH-MAY-ZING.

I expected great special effects and a decent, entertaining movie with a cute boy. It is that, but actually more than that. I find it actually improves on the source material (both the book and the 1967 animated film). Great voice acting for all the animals, stunning animation, and at the centre of it all a very compelling performance by Neel Sethi as Mowgli, who is cute, funny and utterly convincing in the role.

An instant classic for me. The best boy movie in recent memory.

Neel Sethi reminds me of Ovidiu Balan in Mondo (1995) in this
photo.

Can't wait to see this film!

Very excellent movie... reminded me of one of my all time favorites Where The Wild Things Are (2007). Neel Sethi was particularly amazing considering he was working in a studio in front of a green screen the whole time!

nightwatcher: Your favourite movie is 'Where The Wild Things Are'? Surely not. I thought the monsters on the island were not only dangerous but slightly psychotic. Max Record was nice but that was about it.
I mean 'favourite movies' have to be the likes of 'Motorama' (Jordan Christopher Michael) or 'This Special Friendship' (Didier Haudepin). Or boy actors like the inestimable HCH Jeremy Sumpter.    Wink

Well, he said "one of," so not necessarily the #1 all time favourite.

And there's many reasons to like a movie and we all respond to them differently, so if someone did pick Where the Wild Things Are as their favourite, I would have no problem with that.
