Excellent b&w film from the early 1960's about a boy
and his dog.  A 'must see' film for fans of Roger Mobley.

Wow! Shot in CinemaScope with Bausch & Lomb lenses.

Supposedly based on a true story.

Trivia: The dog that played 'Pete' in this film was the same
one used in the film A Dog of Flanders (1959) which
starred David Ladd.

Plot Summary:
Guy (played by Roger Mobley) and his parents are moving
from Elko, NV to Hawthorn, CA.  They don't have enough
room in the car, so they're leaving the dog (Pete)
with a neighbor and they'll send for him soon.

Guy is not happy about this.  Once they get to California,
they find out that Pete has run away.  Guy is heartbroken
but believes that Pete will find them at their new home.

Thanks Bowser! It sounds similar to "A Dog's Best Friend." I'll watch anything with Roger Mobley. Interesting that "Pete" graced the screen in both B&W and color  Smiley

Roger Mobley? He looks familiar and just like those American boy actors from the 1950s who always seemed to have a dog as their best friend instead of an understanding BA 'Uncle'.   Roll Eyes   Smiley

Thanks for the clips, 'bowser'.
