Also stars Todd Porter and Academy Awards winner Burl Ives.

As many movies back in the 1970's and 80's were, this one was
a pilot movie for a television series.  Unfortunately the series
was not picked up.  Too bad.  It would have made a fantastic
television show.

An interesting film from back in 1981.  Definitely a
Saturday Morning Matinee Movie.  A bit hokey, but
still a lot of fun, especially for the younger crowd.

Worth a look to see Marc Gilpin and Todd Porter.

Color by Technicolor.

Plot Summary:
Tommy (Todd Porter) lives with his grandfather (Burl Ives).  A family
from outer space crash lands near their cabin.  Their son Dalem (Marc
Gilpin) is about the same age as Tommy.

Tommy and his grandfather help them elude the authorities and
attempt to help them repair their space ship.

Interesting side note:  Dalem, the boy from outer space, uses a mini-laptop
computer.  Laptops were invented and first became available in 1981.

Interesting side note:  Principle photography for the film was done in 1980.
Marc Gilpin was quite a bit smaller in stature than Todd Porter, though Marc was
fourteen and Todd was only twelve.

Marc Gilpin, another obscure boy actor I had never heard of but who is quite good looking. Of course, in the seventies boys WERE better looking and I note the trademark cut-off shorts and thick white socks with banded tops that were so popular in that wonderful Boy decade.

Thanks for the great clips, 'bowser'.   Smiley

Not sure if it was ever released on video,
the only copy I've found was on YouTube.
