Child Eater (2016)

Stars Colin Critchley as 'Lucas'

A very slow, atmospheric movie, darkly lit.  I really enjoyed
Colin Critchley in the film.  He was great and has a lot of
screen time!  Hope to see him in more films.

The story is a little drab and disconnected, but once the
boogeyman enters the picture, it definitely gets intense.
Very stressful cat-and-mouse chase scenes with Lucas
running for his life.

Not for everyone.  Great for Halloween.

Shot on RED EPIC with Kowa anamorphic lenses.  Notice
how the images appear a little soft. (The beauty of
Kowa!)

Based on a 2012 short film of the same name by
the same writer/director Erlingur Thoroddsen.

Plot Summary:
Rumor has it that years ago there was a man who began to
go blind.  He reasoned that if he would eat the eyes of
children, he could regain his sight.  He was crazy.

Helen (played by Cait Bliss) is on a routine babysitting job.  Lucas
(played by Colin Critchley) can't sleep and says there's a
boogeyman in his closet.  Helen should have listened.

Wink

Yes, already planning this year's party!  I love parties!  This film
probably will not make it into our 2017 Halloween Bash.  The plot
is way too slow for the younger crowd.

This year I think we'll go back to the basics:  Universal Monsters!
Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, and The Creature.  The younger
crowd always gets a kick out of the b&w films.

I hope everyone here has party plans this year.     Cheesy

Please bare with me as far as my typing goes! I was diagnosed with Cataracts recently, they will be surgically corrected in the near future, but in the mean time, I have to make do with limited vision! I have eyeglasses, but they're not prescription, I bought them at a Dollar store, just to be able to see little clearer! but me eyes are getting worse by the weeks and months, I just hope I get the surgery soon I don't want to go blind! Let's hope and pray that your sight stays good so you can
continue watching all of these great movies and television
shows!

Not to worry, Cataracts surgery is routine these days.

And speaking of great television shows, I'm on a 70's and
80's kick!  I've been venturing into the archive room and
finding some great shows from the past.

We got out the old tape machines and cleaned and adjusted
them.  They still work!

Thanks B! I was already aware of the commonality of todays Cataract surgeries, I guess I was just kind of whining a little bit, it's frustrating to not be able to see as clearly as I used to, 20 years ago I had 20/20 vision, all my life up to that point. The Doctor promised me my vision would be greatly improved, and possibly the full 20/20 restored! I'm supposed to go I, in the middle of June to get my eyes evaluated to find out what type of replacement  lenses I'll need, I was told they have lenses now that are UV resistant, kind of like Polaray Sunglasses!  Smiley

Currently available at Amazon.com

I didn't see it listed at Amazon.co.uk

The movie is a bit slow but Colin Critchley
was excellent in the film!

Thanks, 'bowser', for those excellent clips of Colin Critchley. In the first ones he looks cute but in the later clips he needs some nice BA member to hold his hand poor child.
If we have any BA Halloween party movies shown they have to contain BOY actors like Noah Wiseman in 'Babadook', Ridge Canipe in 'Cradle Will Fall' or Blake Woodruff in 'Whisper'. I bet there are loads of others ....    Cheesy
