I don't want to start another gender war, but... surely the whole joy of Dr. Smith was that he was so marvellously camp! Somehow, I can't imagine a woman saying "oh, the pain, the pain!" Mind you, I suppose no one could ever beat Jonathan Harris - he was such a one-off! Still, I don't want to write off the series quite yet... well, not until I've seen it anyway. Smiley

All I can say is, Netflix is getting better and better with their Original Productions, Let's hope this one is a topper! Smiley

I wish Max Jenkins well but he's not as good looking as Billy Mumy and making Dr Smith a female is an outrage. Of course, we know the reason, it's precisely because Dr Smith was camp and nowadays we can't have a camp male getting on friendly terms with a boy ... oh dear. I echo 'diogenes's thoughts. Almost as bad as making 'Lord of the Flies' with girls! Shocked

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. A sad testament to the decline of civilisation since the 60s.

Per IMDB, Max is in the circus with his father, where he performs an acrobatic balancing act. Now that's something that should have its own show! I still will probably check this out for Max as it looks like his big break, even though I don't love the "updates."

It seems "Max Jenkins" up to 2015 is now "Maxwell Jenkins".  So grown-up!

Very well done re-boot of the classic television show. Totally
different plot line. Highly Recommended!

Watch for a very short cameo of Billy Mumy playing the part of
Dr. Zachary Smith. And Adam Reid from You Can't Do That on
Television
(19791990) has a small part as Peter.

Shot in beautiful British Columbia
