Got the VHS for $3.99 USD. A very subtle and beautiful movie.

Steven's mother takes ill (terminally, unfortunately), and Steven goes to his uncles' home to stay a while. Both uncles are really flakey (schizophrenic, probably) and Steven picks up on their craziness without becoming crazy himself.

He later comes home to his dieing mother, his dad, and his little sister. There are many moments of bonding between the boy and the men in his life. The scenes are abundantly beautiful.

Thanks for the caps, Devon. I saw this one for the first time last month and I quite liked it. Really sweet story, some funny moments, and a very natural performance by Nathan Watt.

Don't you think Nathan Watt looks a lot like Michael Angarano in some shots?

Also, Michael Richards (who played Kramer in the sitcom Seinfeld) is really good as one of the two uncles. His character is not just another version of Kramer and I think it would be interesting to see him in other half-serious roles like this one.

This was directed by Diane Keaton.
