Doc is actually a realllllly bad show. Completely boring and with terrible acting. However, I've noticed that on the few times I happened to catch bits of it on TV, there were often boys in minor roles.

I never miss it because Tyler Garcia Posey is the cutest boy on TV and he usually gets a decent amount of screen time.

By the way, something noted before came up in this week's repeat of Doc...

A kid (10 or 12) in school.  Some tender moment involving the classroom teacher.  They hug.  Everyone is happy.  When this happens on TV it is always, always, a female teacher.  Regardless of the gender of the pupil.  Significant?
