According to my on-screen cable guide, Pure (2002) will air on the Sundance channel at 9:00 p.m. tonight (Sunday -- Mother's Day in the U.S.)

I'm watching this now -- very nice boy, bit of a bleak film, but very good none-the-less.

It was driving me batty -- who is that police detective??

My first hunch was right -- it's Billy Elliot's dad! (Gary Lewis III).  Must have left that crappy factory job and went off to the police academy.  Makes "pure" more interesting, anyway.

Nice picture of Billy, wwaabbitt.  Hey, though, wasn't his dad a miner ?  There sure are some beautiful scenes in that movie between father and son:  especially the scene where Billy's father tells him he'd better get off to London because a lodger has been promised his room.  This is a "feel good " which works with me every time I see it.  Thanks for reminding me, wwaabbitt !

I meant to tell you, it was wonderful.

Not that it was a nice film at all. It was very bleak, but told a meaningful story. Harry Eden was fantastic in it, too.
