Look, this is set in Vancouver in the winter, so why would he go out without his hat?  I don't recall that we ever see him without that hat and coat.

Well, there could have been a scene of him indoors, where he wouldn't need a hat.  Roll Eyes

my question is, how can a turtle get lost?  They move, what, an inch a day, or something??   Did the boy go away for about 10 years, and come back, and the turtle was not where he left it?
