A new Dutch movie which will have it grand premiere next monday and its theatrical release on April 28.

IN ORANGE tells the story of 12-yo Remco, a very talented and fanatic little soccer player with only one dream: to play the Dutch national team. Erik, his father, is possibly even more fanatic in coaching Remco. He always knows better, which leads to conflicts between father and son. Remco’s mother Sylvia is the one to hush up the arguments. Remco’s world falls apart when his dad dies, but the grandma of his soccer mate Winston tries to help Remco to contact his father through black magic. Then Remco gets injured. His girlfriend Anneke, daughter of the local chemist, supports him to make his dream finally come true.

Really looking forward to watching this movie, am sure that, with the European Championships coming up, this movie will be a hit.

Yannick van de Velde plays the part of Remco. Remco now stars in a 6-episode series, "How to get in the National Team?", in which he meets and interviews young professional players of the National Team. The series is partially meant to promote In Orange. Yannick presents himself as a very pure and natural interviewer.

I expect the DVD to be released at the end of this year.

Well, you can count on me buying this one.  I think boys and soccer go together even better than boys and ballet do.   Grin

Love,

Some pics of the big opening night earlier this week. The premiere took place not in a theatre but in one of the biggest football stadiums out here.

The movie was received very well and shows a lot of potential.

Thanks for the tip 'soles. This film looks like a real winner.

I remember Yannick van de Velde from Little Crumb, I'm looking forward to seeing him try to carry a film.
