A moody piece directed by Vadim Perelman.  It starts slowly, but don't give up on it!

With Jonathan Ahdout as Esmail (maybe 13 or 14).  We first see him at his sister's wedding.

Ben Kingsley plays his father, a colonel who fled from Iran when the Iatollahs came to power.  I was impressed by this father-son talk.  Here we begin to see how much the two of them care for each other.  And respect each other.  We see it more later.

There is also Max Jansen Weinstein.  But we see him only once through a car window...here with Ashley Edner:

Ben Kingsley is so good, that if Jonathan Ahdout can hold his own in a scene including the two of them, I know those father and son scenes will be good.  Smiley

Thanks for posting about this one, hosenhaus!

Love,
Sir J

And the director of this movie is the one who will be directing the adaptation of The Talisman, by the way.

Nice caps.

There is a commentary by 3 guys: Sir Ben, the director, and the author of the book.  They go on quite a bit praising Jonathan.

And this is supposed to be the audience's favorite scene:

Well, I don't know about the rest of the audience, but this scene was one of my favorites, Hosenhaus.

This is a very suspenseful story which works best if you don't start picking apart the details.
I enjoyed it a lot. Ben Kingsley was superb.
