"Leo"

2002 film, UK/US
[UK director, filmed in the US]

Davis Sweatt as Leo age 11

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Jordan Lamb as Leo age 4

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Not sure, these could be...
Andrew Ruse as Mark; Zac Epstein as Kid #1; Cody Newton as Charles.
Any help identifying them?

More Davis Sweatt, he's the real star in my opinion, despite big names like Sam Shepard, Dennis Hopper, and Joseph Fiennes.

Oh man, thanks for the caps, hosenhaus! Grin

I don't know who the boys are that you were asking
about, but if these caps mean that you've already
gotten your copy of the movie, maybe that means
mine will be here today. I'm looking forward to
seeing it!

Love,
Sir J

I've added this to my rental queue on Zip.ca. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for the caps.

Is it just me or does Davis Sweatt look a lot older than 11?

Great caps hosenhaus...

I assume we can assume that IMBd has erred in
listing Davis Sweatt (or is it Sweat) as being in
the 'rest of cast' rather than in a major role in the
movie.

Well, IMDb might just be going with the information
they get from the film's publicists. Davis Sweat's
name is nowhere to be found on the film's official
website. In the cast and crew section, there are 8
names mentioned and he is not one of them.

It's disgusting the way some filmmakers/producers
treat their child actors. Even if he doesn't have star
power to attract people to the cinema, you'd think
he would at least be mentioned somewhere.

Davis Sweatt with two T's is how it appears in the film (opening and closing credits both).

Davis Sweatt can be found listed as guest star for "Law & Order: SVU" epsode "Silence" in 2002.

Question posed below is a spoiler -

Okay, I have watched it twice, loved Davis Sweatt's acting and good looks,
fine adult cast except for the ever-tiresome Dennis Hopper - but
what looks like an ingenious story twist just leaves me wondering what I missed.
Question - Are the boy and the prisoner he is trading letters with
actually the same character or not? I take it the letters from the inmate
to the boy are really a kind of inner search, trying to gain touch with his
young self. BUT!! how in HELL can the boy version of the character, in his
own time frame, write a letter to his future self knowing that he will
someday be in jail. I welcome a clever plot point but it DOES have to
make sense.

Or have I got it all wrong and they are 2 distinct characters??

SPOILER

YoungArthur, I had exactly those same thoughts as it came to a conclusion. ???

I think it was pretty convoluted, but you're right. They're the same person.

I'm sure. I think. Smiley

And when they meet, the old Leo (Stephen) tells the young Leo that things don't have to be that way, and he can avoid going to prison. So we can hope that's what happens.
