Wow Zab, thanks!  I do still have the file, and I'll watch it again with the translation opened beside it, or on the laptop next to it. Smiley

I downloaded those production stills, too.  Very nice.  Wink

Love,
Sir J

I nominate a song called  my great escape,  from  the cure, i love hearing the song, and watching joseph mazzello looking so innocent and pure, rafting down the river. I wish marc cohn, the singer would put that song out on cd.

There's also a video of Declan Galbraith singing John Lenon's Imagine, and it has scenes from The Cure in it, but I don't remember if the song was in the movie!

Boys singing in movies are extremely rare ... unfortunately. The only boy who springs instantly to mind is Bobby Breen from the 1930s. He had a great voice but his films had too much plot and character waffle and not enough of him singing. I have three of his films on DVD: 'Fisherman's Wharf' in which he gives a good rendition of Schubert's 'Ava Maria', 'Hawaii Calls' in which he sings the Irish song 'Macushla' to the accompaniment of the ship's orchestra and 'Way Down South' wherein he sings some unknown piece about 'Lou-Lou-Louisiana'.
Also from the thirties was Graham Payn who sang as a boy soprano at various cinemas during the intervals as was customary then. He was also recorded on British Pathe newsreels singing songs like 'Meadowsweet' and 'I Hear You Calling Me'.
More recently I can only recollect the Mexican boy singer, Pedrito Fernandez, who sang typical Mexican songs in 'La Mugrosita' (1980) and other films.
There will be others, no doubt, but where are they?

I haven't yet seen Tommy in Dr.T so I didn't know he could sing that well!
Here's a clip of him singing "Just Because We're Kids"

Note that some of the comments on the youtube link state that Tommy lipsynced to someone else singing, but I think it's really Tommy, it sounds like his voice to me!

Tommy is one of my favorite actors.

He was great in Dr. T even thought the film was a bit unusual.

I remember him singing and thought that it was him.  I'll have to watch it again.

Cheesy

One of my favorite scenes in the movie Oliver was the scene where Mark sings "Where Is Love" I thought he had a wonderful sorprano singing voice! it turned out, because he couldn't sing at all, the Director dubbed in his Dautgher singing over Mark's voice.  Almost any kid who has the right training can have an angelic voice! almost without exception!

Tommy's voice double for that movie was Tony Butala who later became a founding member of the vocal group The Lettermen.

Since we're banned from nominating a movie, I had to look up the individual songs for Les Choristes (The Chorus) Tongue. I believe the soloist is Jean-Baptiste Maunier.

Another of my favorites was a short scene in the Kenny Rogers' movie, Six Pack:

I was missing that movie from my IMDB List and just added it  Wink

Smiley I have Les Choristes in DVD. Jean-Baptiste MAUNIER is a very good young singer  and he has a very good play in part of 12 years old Pierre MORHANGE.

I'm a huge fan of "Les Choristes" as a whole, both DVD and CD - and of course Jean-Baptiste!
