Do you know if there's a boy in it as Alexander when he was a boy being taught by Aristotle? And more importantly, does he get to wear a toga? (or maybe that was Rome Undecided)

Togas are Roman and were not worn by boys.  Below is a picture from Premier magazine of Connor Paolo in costume.  This was originally posted at B.O.Y.S.,
hence the logo.

I don't know if Aristotle will be shown teaching the young Alexander.  There's no character named Aristotle listed in the credits.

The scene above is Alexander rising from his chair to ride the horse, Busephalus.  His father, Phillip of Macedon, was going to have the animal killed because he was unable to tame it.  Alexander, however, noticed that the stallion was afraid of it's shadow.  By positioning it so it's shadow was not visible, he was able to mount.  Alexander was 12 at the time.  He rode Busephalus into every battle he fought, the horse being killed in the last one.  This is depicted in the movie as Alexander dueling with an elephant.

Yes, Very nice!  Dark eyes and blond hair. Smiley

I will definitely have to see this one too, just in case there's a scene of young Alexander in that costume standing atop a cliff on a windy day. Or similar scenes. 8)

Alexander will be released November 5, 2004.  Right now it's in the final editing process and Connor Paolo (according to my spies) is in Paris right now for voice over work on the film.

Hehe.   Grin   apple, when my houseboy gets stains on his white clothes, we just go out shopping for new ones.   Wink

Connor Paolo in that outfit with that blonde hair is simply loverly.  I like historical biography movies, too, so I'm really looking forward to this one!

Love,
Sir J

What I want to see is a scene where young Alexander practices his warrior skills, swordsmanship and the like.  If Oliver Stone is really interested in historical accuracy, I understand they used to do that naked.  :luvstruck:  :jawdrop:

Interesting fact: The ancient Greek Olympics were all-male. The reason they were competed in the nude was because women would sometimes dress as men in order to compete. So they decided to have all the athletes be naked to make it impossible for women to sneak in.

Today's history lesson:

Clothes were often washed in tubs or vats, where they were trodden upon and stamped by the feet of the workers (usually boys). They didn't have soap, so they used different kinds of alkali, the most common being human urine which was collected from townsfolk in the street who would pee in pots usually located outside a laundry. Clothing was usually whitened with sulphur and a fine white earth was often rubbed into the cloth to increase whiteness.
