Good Hands (Head käed)

Boy Actor:  Atis Tenbergs
(He plays the role of Pavo who is probably the most important character after the lead actress)

SBS Synopsis:

After winning the Manfred Salzgeber Award at the 2002 Berlin Film Festival, this film continues to delight audiences with its quirky characters and captivating storyline. Director Peeter Simm brings his colourful characters to life in an engaging way while retaining their depth and unpredictability. Margita (Rezija Kalnina) is a petty thief who flees with her sister (and partner in crime) from the Latvian capital of Riga to the sleepy Estonian village of Vineeri to escape the law. As Margita assimilates into the life of the quiet town, her own life takes new turns when she meets precocious orphan Pavo (Atis Tenbergs) who is as light-fingered as she is. Confronted with new feelings of love and responsibility, Margita's self-reliant lifestyle is challenged and, along with other eccentric characters, Pavo brings about a revision of Margita's values while eliciting many laughs along the way. (From Estonia/Latvia, in Latvian, Estonian and Russian, English subtitles) (2001) PG WS

Caps from TV:

I liked Pavo played by Atis Tenbergs...

The verbal comedy aspects in subtitled movies are often lost in translation, however I found this movie engaging enough and I'd like to see more of Artis.

I'd never heard of this one before and have added it to my wish list.

While preparing info for its profile, I found a few more images.

A common story, but still looks like a great film.

Dvd isn't available here, but perhaps with a more broad search, something can be found.

Thanks for these pics, Cal and Zabladowski.... albeit a while back.
