Okay, here's the synopsis of the one from that first link, apple, and a poster and some wallpapers of it from your second link. The wallpapers are downsized here, but you can download the original sizes from the second link, and watch a couple of videos from the movie, too. They're really slow to open, though. (I'll check out the second movie later.) Smiley

Machuca

A turning-point in the life of one boy – and his homeland.

Set against the fall of the socialist Allende government and the installation of the military junta in 1973 Chile, this delicate coming-of-age tale sees two very different boys - one from the privileged suburbs, the other a slum-dweller from a shantytown – become classmates and grow closer, until eventually their friendship is threatened by the intractable forces of revolution - and the rather more complex allure of their classmate Silvana. Like a cross between Peter Weir's Dead Poets’ Society and Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers, this is a poignant and accomplished film, acute to both the joyous immediacy of childhood and the bitter disappointments of adult life.

Mickybo and Me

Set in 1970, the tale of two boys whose friendship crosses the sectarian divide of the Troubles.

Based on Owen McCafferty's acclaimed play, this funny, touching film tells the story of two boys, growing up in a divided Belfast, who share an obsession with the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid – one that leads them, first into petty crime, and then on a misconceived escape to safety - in Australia. Executive-produced by Stephen (Billy Elliot) Daldry, co-starring Julie Waters, Adrian Dunbar and Gina McKee, and featuring excellent performances from its two young leads (discovered during open auditions in Ireland), this is a moving story of loyalty, innocence and friendship.

Thanks apple and sir J,
Both those movies look very promising. I've made profiles for them on the database... although we still need a better quality pic for 'Mickybo and Me'.
