I wonder if 'Finding Neverland' will get a lot of attention at the Oscars this year? I have a hunch that it will, since the voters ignored Peter Pan last year. I've acquired more insight than I really want into the peculiar mindset of Oscar voters.  Grin
(this comment is directed at the Academy, not the movie which looks excellent and which I can't wait to see. It's just that intrinisic merit of a film is often the least important factor in Oscar choices)

It's interesting that the Peter Pan movie has a 7.3 rating on IMBd considering all the negative flack it received when it was released and a lot of people have written very favourable comments about it.

I'm looking forward to seeing Finding Neverland and seeing how well it will do in the Oscar race. I think a lot of it's success is probably due to Johnny Depp who is one of the hottest boxoffice draws in the world today.

I'll be surprised if Freddie Highmore gets a nomination even if his performance outshines Depp. I don't think adult actors like voting for child actors and I've always felt that Oscar is more about popularity, sentiment  and marketing than a true reflection of performance.

I saw it today at the cinema. I'd give it a 9/10.

Johnny Depp gives his now usual high standard performance. I thought the three women leads were excellent as well. And the boys were all terrific with Freddie Highmore a standout.

I think I'd have to agree...   he's got my vote for the best child actor performance of 2004 along with Thomas Sangster for 'Feather Boy'.

I'm looking forward to his reteaming with Johnny Depp for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

A solid enough movie, but the big close didn't play right with me (I'm not sure why, usually I go for that sort of thing).

Freddie Highmore is getting a lot of attention for the film, but my vote for 2004 went to Thomas Sangster for Feather Boy.

It's not too late to cast your vote if you haven't already at (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
