Two Brothers (2004): has anyone seen it?

Any opinions of this movie? I only caught the preview tacked onto the Peter Pan DVD from which I caught a couple caps on the wing; silly DVD wouldn't let me freeze frame the preview.  This looks like one my mushy heart would enjoy.

Not yet, its video release is on the 21st.

I did see the trailer in a theatre and resolved to see the film some day. I'm quite interested in watching Freddie Highmore act, but I'm not sure how large his roleis in the film. I got the impression from reading reviews that the animals dominated the screentime.

I adore Freddie.  IMO he's a younger version of Thomas Sangster, similiar talent and similiar sensibility. It impresses me how many fine boy actors are being produced in the UK in recent years.

I've only see some stills from Two Brothers, but it sure is high on my list of movies to see. I hope Freddie gets some decent screen time and is in more than the first five minutes or so of the movie.

Sort of bad news, I guess.
Unfortunately, there is so little of Freddie Highmore you wonder if there was an accident in the cutting room.  What there is of him is precious (I counted about 7.5 minutes of screen time, much of it in 3-5 second bits)
If this were an animal lovers forum ‘Two Brothers’ would be at the top of everyone’s list of must-sees.  The director intended to have the tigers as the stars and he followed through. The scenes of the tigers are awesome and astonishingly beautiful.

But Arnaud was so determined, apparently, not to go the Disney route he placed the burden of audience appeal on the animals and made as little as possible of the bond between the tigers and their human friends. The scene at the end where the boy confronts his tiger pal for the last time was moving, but it could have had real power.  Earlier, there was a cute shot of the boy sleeping with the cub and a very brief but cute scene of the boy playing with the cub.  Yet, at the parting scene you almost have the feeling that the two were never properly introduced.

Well, Freddie IS there so it is worth a look. Well worth a look if you happen also to love tigers. Wink

I suspected Freddie wasn't in it very much but I love cats of all sizes so I'm still very keen to see it.

Thanks for the lovely caps YA.

Hi Phoenix and welcome. Smiley
I forgot to mention Freddie's accent. I haven't heard him speak in any other movie, but here he combines an English accent with a far-Eastern one. If this is not his natural sound, he did it extremely well and shows amazing child-acting talent. And it is a delight to hear, of course.

Thank you for the pictures. The movie is a good one and I do recommend it (if you like animal movies).
