I never heard of this 13 year old actor before, but Ayden Smalling has a major role in the FX original movie "Oil Storm," which premiered this week.

This picture is a little younger than Ayden in the movie, but not much.

He's definitely worth watching in this powerful movie, which carries a strong message about how much the US depends on a fragile supply of oil to keep us going.  However you feel about the energy situation, you'll like Ayden and his frequent scenes in this movie.

It's on FX at 11:00 PM on June 11 and 5:30 PM on June 12.  Those times are Eastern and probably Pacific too.

I couldn't find him on IMBd but I did find another newcomer with the same surname:

Probably not related to each other though.

Definately an old headshot of Ayden.  He is 14.    He lives in Texas where he booked Oil Storm.  He is not on IMDB yet -- so far has been 2nd choice several times for feature films and TV roles in LA.  Other than Oil Storm and commercials, he does regular Voice-over work for animation, radio & TV commercials, etc.

He had a blast filming Oil Storm.  Also very proud of the fact that all the "interview" scenes were non-scripted and improv for him.

Really?!  He did all those interview scenes (pretty much his entire role) without a script?  Excellent work.  He was very believable.
