I like them both.  If I had to choose, I guess I would take Zachary Browne.  I have kind of been hoping for a 3rd movie. (There is a 3rd book.)  But I guess it just wouldn't be the same without Rod Steiger.  Even if they change all the other actors...

I've only seen the first one. Having seen many 'boy and dog' stories they all seem to be pretty similiar in content. Blake Heron was very good.  I think I've got the other movie on tape somewhere but haven't got around to watching it.

I like first shilo movie lots more than second movie.  Both got good storys but in first movie I feel much bad feeling to that man who was mean to the puppy. 

It seem more like real family in first film but I like second Shilo too.
