Patty Duke, Anna Paquin, and Tatum O'Neal all won Academy Awards for best supporting actress. I know of no other child actor to win an Academy acting award.
Where are the boys? Patty Duke was certainly outstanding and deserving of her Oscar for her performance in "The Miracle Worker" (though she may have been old enough to be considered in the adult category). But if Paquin and O'Neal can win the award, why couldn't  some of the great boy acting performances have won? There were certainly some boy performances as good and a few that were better.
Haley Joel Osment, in my mind the best boy actor at present, should have won for his unbelievable performance in "The Sixth Sense". Ricky Schroeder should have won for "The Champ". I think those are the two best boy actors since the days of Cooper-Bartholomew-Rooney, who had various great acting roles. But none of them won the Academy Award. Nor did Claude Jarmon Jr. for his magnificent acting in "The Yearling". And, dispite their three wins, the child actresses have not always gotten their due either. Consider arguably the best child actress ever, Margaret O'Brien. She never won.
I know that in most years, children are not going to deserve to win over the best adult actors. But there are occasions, like those listed above, when perhaps they should.
I heard that they may create a special academy award for the best child actors. I hope so. It is long overdue. Perhaps fine present day child actors like Freddie Highmore can cash in yet.
What other child actors do you think deserved the award and were slighted? I'm sure there are other great performances that went unrewarded, now and in the past.

I seen book that got list of awards for kids in films but it has been long time since seen it.

I remember boy in KRAMER VS KRAMER also got nominate for academy award Justin Henry but he did not win. 

Haley Osment in SIXTH SENSE should won but it don't seem fair kids don't win.  I think I read about vote for academy award is by lots of actors and do make me wonder if grown ups don't wish to vote for kid who got same job as they do even if he do a better job.

There have also been many wonderful performances by boy actors in non English speaking films.

I know Freddy Fredmore was got Nominated for the movie call Finding neverland.
but he didnt win the Oscars.
