provocative news for anyone `down under`

...The Radcliffes have close friends living in Melbourne and are believed to be increasingly thinking of the city as their second home...

daniel's kissing skills were being discussed in yesterday's sunday mirror :

HARRY POTTER SEX SHOCKER

Aug 21 2005

Desperate Dan's after Teresa in new film

Exclusive By Michael Duffy

AFTER having his first screen kiss in new Harry movie The Goblet Of Fire, actor Daniel Radcliffe will shock fans by turning into a sex-hungry teen.

He will be seen sharing passionate smooches with gorgeous Teresa Palmer
- (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) - in an Aussie-based film called December Boys - his first non-Potter role.

Teresa, 20, who will start filming with Daniel, 16, in November said: "It's a bit daunting because he's such a huge star." Daniel will have already mastered "stage-kissing" in a scene with Scottish actress Katie Leung - who plays his first-ever girlfriend Cho Chang - in Goblet Of Fire, which opens on November 18.

And he will have to be careful not to be too enthusiastic about his scenes with Teresa - her boyfriend is hunky Australian Rules Football star Stuart Dew.

Daniel is already settling into Australia with his parents in the exclusive inner-city Melbourne suburb of Toorak.

He recently celebrated his 16th birthday with them and - just like Harry would have done - splurged his birthday money on illusions and games from a magic shop.

i've been in touch with the radcliffe family and have recommended daniel and teresa enrol on a course at the kissing school- (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

furthermore - extraordinary revelations in a uk tabloid newspaper :

...daniel is a keen prankster who switched the messages on robbie coltrane's mobile phone to turkish when they were filming the philosopher's stone.

he likes REM and U2 and says his favourite film is twelve angry boys men, the first black-and-white movie he saw.

POTTER'S SPELL OF NUDITY

HARRY Potter star Daniel Radcliffe revealed yesterday that he is dreading his naked screen debut in the forthcoming blockbuster.

The 16-year-old actor has stripped off for the first time in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, which opens on November 18.

He is seen having a bath in the prefects' bathroom while he tries to work out a clue to help him win the Triwizard Tournament.

Daniel said: "I've not seen the bit where you see me with my top half undressed but I've seen the bit after that where I'm just in the bath.

"I'm a bit nervous about seeing that in the cinema

So does that mean he wasn't naked when he had a bath in 'David Copperfield?'...  he got pretty close!

The older girl who's cast a spell on Harry

by RICHARD SIMPSON, Daily Mail

07:40am 31st October 2005

Amy Byrne: On location in Turkey

As the boy who plays Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe is constantly attended by hairdressers and make-up artists.

And one in particular seems to have caught his eye. Over the past year, the 16-year old actor has grown close to a trainee hairdresser seven years his senior.

She is Irish-born Amy Byrne, a 23-year-old brunette. The couple met in the summer of 2004 during filming of the fourth movie in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Since then they have regularly visited each other's homes and been on dates together.

After filming finished they remained in touch even though Radcliffe has been on a punishing press schedule to promote Goblet of Fire in London while Miss Byrne has flown off to work as a hairstylist and make-up artist on a Turkish movie set.

She will remain there for the next month working on a film version of Turkey's most popular soap opera. Friends say Radcliffe and Miss Byrne spend hours on the phone to each other and are constantly exchanging text messages.

Miss Byrne rents a room in a small semi-detached house in Watford, close to Hertfordshire's Leavesden Studios where much of the latest Potter film was shot.

It would seem strange for Radcliffe, who lives with his parents in Fulham, to make an hour's journey just to get his hair and make-up done there.

But this, according to her landlord Douglas Jackson, is precisely the excuse she has given for the young star's regular visits. Mr Jackson said: "Daniel has called round on a number of occasions. Amy says it is so she can help him get dressed.

"She does his hair and make-up before he goes to various publicity events in London. They are very close friends. As to whether there's a relationship, I have no knowledge of that."

In Goblet of Fire, which has its world premiere in London next Sunday and is released on November 18, Harry and his friends have finally acknowledged the existence of feelings for the opposite sex. Harry has a dance scene with Parvati Patil, played by Shefali Chowdhury.

Last week Radcliffe described Shefali as "completely gorgeous", admitted that he had already had a girlfriend, and added that he would not be averse to a night out with Hollywood actresses Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman.

His publicist Vanessa Davies said last night: "Yes, Daniel and Amy are good friends. Daniel has many friends. There is no more to it than a friendship. Daniel is a very social person and he goes round to people's houses a lot."

harry was also a guest on the jonathan ross chat show on BBC1.

woody harrelson was also a guest; but as he plays an alcoholic defrocked priest in his next movie, jonathan said he had better not sit next to harry. ???

jonathan said harry was the youngest guest ever to appear on the show.

harry revisited a party-trick which allegedly won him the audition for the first HP movie - playing `match of the day` on his cheeks!

sharleen spiteri (from the group `texas`) was also there : talking about her favourite meal - deep-fried pizza.

jonathan said terry gilliam was initially slated to direct the first HP movie.

brazil is one of my favourite movies : terry certainly would have painted HP in a different hue.

Harry Potter star joins the magic circle of super-rich teens

By Marco Giannangeli
(Filed: 21/11/2005)

On screen Harry Potter usually has far more things to worry about than money. For very different reasons Daniel Radcliffe, the child actor who plays the young wizard, also seems unlikely to be kept awake at night by money problems.

Such has been his success in the film adaptations of the J K Rowling books, the 16-year-old actor is reported to have been offered £8 million to be in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the next instalment in the long-running duel between Harry and Lord Voldemort.

A pay cheque of that scale would make Daniel one of the richest teenagers in Britain, occupying the sort of teenage superstardom once dominated by Macaulay Culkin, the American child star who earned £25 million through his Home Alone films.

Daniel appears to be part of a trend - the seriously wealthy self-made teenager.

He will be joining the likes of Charlotte Church, the 19-year-old singer, soul star Joss Stone, 17, the actress Keira Knightley, 20, and Wayne Rooney, 20, the footballer.

All feature in the Sunday Times Rich List and all broke the million-pound mark while in their teens. Also in the club, although with considerably lower profiles, are millionaires Chris Phillips, 17, an internet business owner, and web designer Carl Churchill, 19.

Joss Stone's £5 million fortune was said to have swollen considerably when she became the face of the American clothing giant, Gap, taking over from the older Sarah Jessica Parker, of Sex and the City fame.

Knightley, worth more than £7 million, became famous in the British film Bend it like Beckham and is now filming the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean.

But, as any parent will tell you, adolescence has its downsides.

Church, the angelic-voiced Welsh soprano, thought to be worth between £6 million and £15 million, courted controversy with a blatant raunchier image when she tried her hand at mainstream pop.

And Rooney, who is paid £50,000 a week by Manchester United, may have been established as a top class player by the age of 16 but he also became the youngest player to be sent off, and has struggled to control his vitriolic temper for his club and country.

To the relief of Harry Potter fans, Daniel has seemed untainted by success.

"If childhood is being surrounded by people who you love being around and being incredibly happy, then I absolutely have that," he said recently.

And with his parents, Alan and Marcia, looking after his business interests, Daniel says that he does not know what he is worth.

"To be honest, I don't actually know how much at this point," he said. "In a way, I think that's right. It's not something that affects the way I think about things."

***
'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe is mistakenly being mobbed by fans of Elijah Wood.

'Lord of the Rings' fans in Australia - where Radcliffe is filming his latest movie - have mistaken 16-year-old Daniel for Elijah, 24, - who plays Frodo in the hit fantasy trilogy. But far from being offended by the mistake, Daniel admits he is flattered.

He is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "So often people shout out, 'Hey Frodo!' as they think I'm Elija - who frankly is a very good-looking guy so I take it as a compliment

"I admit when a couple of people have put autograph books under my nose I've signed them, 'Much love Elijah Wood'

"It would be a bit deflating for me if I told the truth and they said, 'Don't bother signing it then'"

Meanwhile, Daniel has become Britain's richest teenager with a personal fortune of £23million.

The boy wizard is now worth more than millionaire teen stars Charlotte Church and Joss Stone after signing a contract worth £8million to appear in the fifth movie, 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'

letter in the daily mail - november 9.

as a harry potter fan i decided to go to the world premiere at leicester square to see the stars arrive. my mum who has arthritis decided to come along too.

i'd never been to an event such as this before and what i thought would be magical turned into a nightmare.

we got there at 10.30am and managed to get fairly near the front of the waiting crowd. the weather wasn't kind and we got drenched but we were prepared for that.

what we weren't prepared for was the ill manners of some people - the pushing shoving and threats.

we stuck it out until 3.20pm, three hours before the stars arrived.

we left very disappointed and wet and with my opinion of people at rock bottom.

there was none of the magic or camaraderie i'd expected.

I hadn't noticed the growing similarity in looks between Daniel and Elijah so it surprises me that some so called fan would confuse the two. Probably 12 year olds who have only seen Elijah in Lord of the Rings.

dan may be thinking about making his theatre debut.

there seems to be some confusion about whether newspaper reports are true.

Harry Potter and the blinder of horses

Tuesday December 20, 2005

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly in talks to star in a West End production directed by Kenneth Branagh.

According to the Daily Mail, Radcliffe could appear in Equus, Peter Shaffer's highly-regarded play about a young stablehand who ritually blinds six horses. If the story is confirmed, it would be an interesting change of role for the man most associated with the boy-wizard: the plot involves the hero reaching the height of sexual ecstasy while riding a horse.

i've seen Equus - more than once : at london's old vic theatre when it was the national theatre.

once with peter firth in the starring role.

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

i forget who also played the part; in fact it's such a long time ago that i may be mistaken/muddled about other actors.

i used to be a regular at the old vic because it was so cheap to get in : a matter of pence for standing room in the gods or in the back row of the stalls.

and if, during the interval,  one noticed seats vacant one could gallop forward and claim them!

many gay men in the audience for equus - using binoculars to peer intently at horse-boy!

Opera Glasses

For the theatre or opera goer, a special sort of binoculars called 'opera glasses' are available.

These have low magnification, usually three or four and with small objective lenses, making them very compact and light.

Since the stage is very brightly lit, the normal rules don't apply. When choosing opera glasses, don't worry about fancy features - just check that you can see clearly through them.
