Is anyone familiar with this boy actor? He played Little Men and Escape from Wildcat Canyon. He was great in both of them. I think he's underrated. He was wonderful!

Michael was a good child actor. He was in 23 rolls in just 6 years. The link will take you to a letter Michael wrote in 2000 about why he is not acting anymore.

1997 -
Best Performance In A Feature Film Leading Young Actor - Michael Caloz - Little Men

I would say he did not do to bad.

A Message From Michael

     Hey everyone,

This is the real Michael Caloz, posting here for the first time.

First, thank you, everyone for visiting, and for all your nice comments about my movies and me. Also, thank you, Carlos for making such a great site.

I guess I’ll first tell everyone why I’ve stopped acting for now: I’m in 10th grade, and am doing honors and AP (advanced placement) classes, so I just don’t have the time to do homework AND memorize scripts.

There are thirteen pages of posts here, so I can’t reply to everyone’s messages (you can e-mail me though if you want), but I will answer a few. Most importantly, I have never, and will never smoke. Also, as I said, I have never posted here before.

Hey Gabrielle! How are you? I’ve missed you too. No, I haven’t heard from Ben either. Sorry,
     I don’t know his e-mail address.

Wyltk, thanks very much for defending me. It really means a lot, since some people actually
believed that I smoke. Whoever’s been posting false things about me: I would really appreciate it if you would stop, I worked very hard on my acting career for more than seven years, and don’t want people coming here to get the wrong impression about me. As people have pointed out, I really try to be modest about my acting, and really don’t do anything like smoking. If you’re someone from school, please realize that it may be accepted as a joke when speaking at school, but this is an international medium, where people who don’t personally know me read, and therefore will probably believe what they hear. Also, it seems that many people visit this site, so I’d like it if they left with accurate information about me.

Teresa, yes I live in California, near Los Angeles.

Hey Guy! Of course I remember you. Your movie sounds great. I’m taking Filmmaking at school too. Right now I’m working on a film about light.

By the way, Wyltk, I’d like to know who you are Smiley Can you e-mail me or tell me at school?

I’m really glad all of you are still interested in this site, and me. Thanks a lot, everyone! Smiley

Yeah. I'm assuming there were probably people pretending to be him on that board before.

I agree that Michael was very watchable Max.

In fact I was the only one here to list him on my top 10 of favorite 1990's boy actors in one of your other posts. I thought he even did a good job in Whiskers, which would have a much lower rating in our database from me where it not for Michael.

There can be some really peculiar cases od child actor vengeance out there.  I guess you are all familiar with the guy on AFTI that, for whatever reason, swore by pretending to be Ryan Cooley and tried to give him a bad name through his usual demeanor...

Why do people like doing these things?

But Michael seemed really nice.  I wish they could all be like that and write back so thoughtfully; I just hope that we aren't living in more paranoid times than we did back even in 2000 where someone like Mike would be/feel discouraged from doing that.

I think this is just one of the inconveniences of fame. You sometimes hear of unhappy people who pretend to be someone well known.

Don't worry MJ, kid stars are still out there letting their opinions be heard. Whether through their official sites or through their myspace sites, I think there is a higher volume of this sort of thing than ever before. After reading some of the myspace sites though, I'm not sure that this is wholly a good thing........... Lips Sealed

That's good to know as long as they are genuinely congenial like Caloz's are.

However I think the proverbial jury may be still out to lunch on the issue of how authentic a lot of those MySpace pages are.  I was just looking through a few of these Friday night and had to shake my head on a few of them.  For example,

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
is supposed to be Alex D. Linz's "space" yet he has curiouslty taken the name of "Suzie's Sex God

Then there is David Henrie's "official space" at
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
where he uses some colorful language.

Last, and certainly not least, there is Devon Werkheiser's "official space" at:
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links).
The red text on an electric blue background will promisingly not make youe eyes swim nearly as much as the fact that, according to this page, Devon is ***17*** years old and of African descent.

Michael Caloz caught my eye and my heart when I saw him in Whiskers. I was disappointed in the movie but not in Michael's cute acting.

MJ,

Some of the misleading info on the myspace pages is because you are not supposed to have an account unless you are above a certain age (16?). The rest may pass for teenage humor. As an example I don't think Oren Williams is 100 years old  Grin

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Devon's page has been blocked off now, but I've seen that one and I agree that it was more than a little.....disconcerting.

I'm inclined to believe the Alex D Linz page to perhaps be his own personal thoughts. If his PR rep saw that they'd probably :puke:
Call it teenage rebellion or something  ???
