rufus the boy wonder sings for £50,000

rufus caudwell, 10-year-old son of phones4U founder john, is fast becoming something of a pop star.

at the big gala auction for children in need on sunday night, caudwell senior - who put his company on the market last week with a price tag of £2bn - bid £50,000 for the opportunity to sing a duet with bryan adams.

"he's going to give it to rufus, who has sung with a number of pop stars in the past, including daniel bedingfield and the sugarbabes", says his spokesman, "he's a confident little kid".

caudwell emerged the victor only after a bidding war with phoenix IT boss nick robinson.
