I've got to see it!
Bad cess to Netflix - they don't have it. But I see that Amazon has it new for $13. Hmm. And several used ones...

i saw joseph (but no amazing coloured raincoat?!) in the celebrate oliver programme.

those `urchins` seemed rather unurchinlike : plumply prosperous - as one would expect with fortunate uk kids IRL.

part of the show is online at the hayley westenra fan site :

for anyone who missed it joseph sang `where is luv!`

mr bumble was played by mathew kelly - a uk actor accused a couple of years ago of intergenerational interests of the erotic kind :

I saw the 1974 version, with Gene Wilder as The Fox. It's not operatic, but it's also a musical. I didn't like it very much.

I wish someone would make a non-musical version of this story.

But I have to say this one looks better.

I didn't like the original film either. A non-musical version would be most welcome.

*gasp!* So did I!  It is wonderful. I do wish they had included subtitles or a copy of the libretto. To me, children singing in chorus sounds beautiful but I could not make out what they were saying/singing.
