It was the supposed to be the straightforward story of a former child star’s efforts to become a comeback kid. But when we followed former Partridge Family member Danny Bonaduce in his life after fame, we never imagined what we would capture...

At first glance it was just another glimpse into celebrity family life, however underneath the surface lies the tragic descent of a desperate man set on the path to self destruction. Amidst drug addiction, infidelity and suicide attempts, Danny’s marriage to manager/wife Gretchen becomes increasingly strained and the family are plunged into crisis.

My Reality TV Breakdown quickly switches from a tongue in cheek reality style show to an honest, heartfelt and dramatic documentary capturing the Bonaduces’ struggle to survive an existence plagued by endless stints in rehab and family therapy sessions.

Emotive and powerful, the story reaches new levels when, concerned that their presence is making matters worse, we offered to terminate filming. Gretchen and Danny however, insisted that we should continue...

Watch what happens on My Reality TV Breakdown, a groundbreaking reality TV experience that demonstrates how sometimes reality is too much for TV.

My Reality TV Breakdown premieres on VH1 every Sunday at 10:30pm.

We’ll also have repeats and highlights throughout the week, including on our sister channels, so make sure you check out our upcoming schedules.

All this week on VH1 we're taking a look at the grown-ups stars who were famous before they grew up. Does that make sense? Some of this sure doesn't!

Look out for Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Justin Timberlake, Hanson, The Osmonds, Little Jimmy and a whole lot more.

100 Greatest Teen Stars is on at various times throughout this VH1 week, so make sure you check out our schedules.

TV loves to depict kid actors who have gone off the rails. Of course TV also knows that kid actors are all creepy, precocious little brats who deserve to get their comeuppance. Is it really possible that these former little princes of the box could actually be human after all. God forbid!

Nice pic of Danny (that little capitalistic opportunist!)

Yeah, reality TV in general makes me sick. And yet everytime I think they came up with the most disgusting, lowest possible concept for a reality show, they manage to come up for another one that either tops it off or at least equals it.

This is just yet another example.

new novel.

author quite well-known in uk.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW

When 15-year-old Alistair Black gets a part in the hit BBC series THEN AND NOW, everyone tells him it will change his life.

But the malign historical events depicted in the TV play start to have an effect on the lives of its child stars, and Alistair's so- called 'opportunity' leads him into increasingly dark territory, culminating in a devastating event with far-reaching consequences.

Twenty years on and Alistair's co-star, Alice Zealand, is still struggling to live with what happened. Properly and gloriously in love for the first time - but on the verge of losing it - she too must lay her ghosts to rest to claim a life back for herself.

With his flair for creating memorable characters and a pitch-perfect ear for dialogue, Jeremy Dyson has written a gripping and often very funny debut novel about love, history, fate, fear and the perils and pleasures of the imagination.
