Benjamin Lønne Røsler ....  Mikkel
Ferdinand Falsen Hiis ....  Magne

An interesting, well made and well acted film that is open to interpretation. Focuses on a group of people who's paths cross at a pivotal time in their lives. Two of these people are brothers Mikkel and Magne whose father has just died. They live alone and wander the streets at night fearful that they will be forced to live apart by welfare authorities. There's a nice low-key supernatural theme intertwined within the drama of these desperate lives. The two boys, although featured throughout  probably only appear on screen for about 25% of the film.

I saw this with Zabladowski at a festival last year. It was pretty good.

Ferdinand Falsen Hiis as the younger brother Magne, was also in the excellent 'Glasskår'.

Benjamin Lønne Røsler as the older brother Mikkel was a regular in the recent Olsenbanden Junior TV series.

I knew I'd seen it mentioned before, but I failed to find where.

It was also brought up in the 2005 foreign language Oscar and the 2005 favorites threads. I agree that it isn't a full scale "boy movie," but it made my top 5 last year.

It's a shame it isn't commercially available in North America.  ???

Did they screen this on World Movies, cal?

Yup...  it's having a season on World Movies channel...  along with several other 'boy' movies such as...

"Together", "Valentin", "Bad Education", "I'm Not Scared", "You Are My Hero",  "Miracle in Bern", Ma Vie en Rose", etc

There's an A-Z list of their movies here:

I said it before, but I'll say it again. I'm so jealous that we don't have that channel in Canada. I'd probably get cable if we did.

I don't know if there's a channel like that anywhere else in the world. There sure isn't in the US.  Sad

Don't forget to see Napola, cal.   Wink
