A few pictures from a favorite kids sitcoms of the 80's..... from the first season of CHARLES IN CHARGE.  (The second season had a different family and child actors.)

Jonathan Ward is the older boy.

Michael Pearlman the younger.   (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

(Note:  A young Meg Ryan appears in one of the screen-caps, from the episode "THE WAR")

Thanks for those caps   Smiley

I didn't see that show when it originally aired. I think I was working late hours in those days. I hope one of the pay TV channels here decides to give it a rerun. There are quite a few of those old series I'd like to check out.

Oh btw if you want to embed a link to a profile page so it shows up like this:

or this:

just type in the reference number of the actor or movie and type it like this:

(actor=831)
(movie=892)

but substitute the (    )   with [    ]     Smiley

Thanks bft.nicolas.

By the way, if you want to post links to actors or movies in the database, we have a code on the forum that puts them up automatically, like this:

To do that, I just wrote {actor=831}, but with square brackets instead of those. For a movie, you write movie instead of actor. You can get the number at the end of the URL on the profile page of the actor or movie you want to link to.

This was one of my favorite series as well.  "The War" is, of course, my favorite episode.  Michael Perlman is humiliated when his older brother pulls off his towel in front of everyone.  He retaliates by hidding ALL of his sibling's clothes when he is in the shower.  Unfortunately, Jonathan Ward still has a robe to wear. (There needs to be a :curses emoticon!)  I didn't realize Meg Ryan was in this.

The show was cancelled by the network after the first season, but continued in syndication for awhile, but the quality was not the same.  The worst thing was the boys were replaced by GIRLS!  However, some interesting lads would pop in from time to time, especially a young Justin Whalin.

I have seen that show since I was 2 years old to 8 years old since 1984 to 1990, it was a good show that I remember watching CBS on every night for my younger days. Ahh, memories of the 80's childhood memory of those 80's tv shows for my childhood days! Smiley

Unlike you, I thought Alexander Polinsky was a boy.

during four seasons on the show, we could watch him grow up.

Sorry, totally forgot about him.  Embarrassed  However, the show did become more girl centered in syndication.

one of my favorite TV episodes ever, on any show, was the Christmas episode of "Charles in Charge" where this kid sings "Silent Night"

That was a great episode.

Almost angelic.

Another superb effort was Larry Mathews singing "The Little Drummer Boy" on the Dick Van d**e sitcom.
