This film had a lot of great reviews...... but was such a disappointment when viewing it.

Hopefully there are many who do appreciate this work.

Thanks for great caps.

I thought the film was excellent! One of the highlights of the 2004 Montreal fest. What were you disappointed about Nicolas?

Is this out on video now, Hosenhaus?

Sorry for being so critical.  It really seemed as if St¨¦vinin (and even Touil) were trying to hard to 'act'.  It's difficult to believe that Pierre is actually the brother of a very good child actor, Robinson St¨¦vinin.

On the contrary, young Sitruk is a natural-born actor, without doubt.  His rebellious nature in this film makes one think that he's that way in real life.... when in reality it's just his wide range of character-acting-abilities (i.e. "Monsieur Batignole").

It was also both the parent-roles in this film, "Vipere Au Poing" that are difficult to believe.  Particularily that of the mother, however much of this could be credited to poor camera-work.  Perhaps the director intended to focus on her eyes and evil-like face.... but enough was enough and we got the point the first half dozen times.

Okay.  Time to digress.

This film is available on dvd here in Europe, but don't know about the western world.

My focus was on the battle between Jules' character and that of his mother. The brother's characters didn't make much of an impression on me positively or negatively. I enjoyed the sparring between the mother and son and the comic relief provided by the father and the priest.

I saw this movie this evening. I liked the very good play of Jules SITRUK in part of Jean REZEAU alias "Brasse-Bouillon". Here the trailer and my movie rating is 9/10 !
