"The day I decided to be Nina" (2000)

aka "Der Dag dat ik besloot Nina te zijn"

Documentary. Netherlands. 15mins.

An 11-year old Dutch boy named Guido has always felt like a girl. At school he wears boys' clothes but at home he's allowed to wear girls' clothing and makeup. He prefers to play with girls and girlish things and he enjoys horse riding classes... and he decides he would like to be called Nina instead of Guido.

IMO films like this should should be used at schools as an aid in discussing individual differences and acceptance of others who are different.
