camp kids are cool.

PRAISE THE LORD!!

...Jesus Camp" is a documentary about an evangelical retreat that teaches children they should prepare to die for God.

It's just opened in the US to critical acclaim - and secular distress.

It is a remarkable glimpse into how Christian fundamentalists have been co-opted by the Republican right - in the country that refined the notion of separation of church and state.

This ought to be an interesting look at religious fanaticism in the USA. The media often likes to expose Middle Eastern extreme Muslim-fanaticism and the schools where future terrorists become indoctrinated. I wonder if the fanatical Christians in the USA are all that different. In some ways the USA is probably one of the most hypocritical countries on the planet!

YouTube had a bunch of Jesus Camp clips for a while and then they got taken down... probably a copyright violation or something. Anyways, the lady running the camp is what I would call an extremely ill-tempered female. She ought to be put away for emotionally abusing the kids at the camp. Man, was she a ... (what's that word I'm looking for here?)...

I love debating religious fanatics, particularly the door knocking evangelical, bible in hand types. Invite them in for a cuppa and an hour later set them free, with shattered spirits. Wonderful sport! Grin

Hmmm. I've been spared the last few years from Witness types at my door. I think its because I have no doorbell at the front. They hate to knock because they abhor violence, maybe.  Wink Or maybe because at the last encounter I remember the man asked if I believed men could fix the world's ills without God's help? I said No, I didn't. When the guy, smiling, dug into his stash of pamphlets I told him "Thank you, no. I've started my own church."

Of course I never did such a thing but maybe I've been blacklisted.

LOL

I told a pair of young JWs that I'd be interested if they sacrificed virgins and another that my name was Lucifer...  I never saw them again.
