I loved this movie. I fell in love with David. I thought Ben Tibber was superb.

It gets a good rating on the database. Everyone has given it an 8 or more. Weirdly the weighted rating reduces it to a 7.39. So I assume it is not as good as people think it is... mathematical formulas don't lie...  or do they  Smiley

I do have this movie, I must watch it one day.

I loved it too. One of the rare times seeing a movie persuaded me to buy the book, which is even more touching, I thought. (book sometimes sold with the title "North To Freedom")

I have to say this is a case where I don't understand the logic of the weighed rating. If there were only two or three votes, I could see why it tones it down a bit. But with this many votes...

Maybe it can see the future and it's anticipating that I will come along and give it a 2/10 or something. (I'm sort of infamous for hating movies everybody else loves.)

I do plan on seeing this eventually. I think it's somewhere on my rental queue.
