Starring Elijah Wood.

The short film is about a nazi soldier who takes jews to gas chambers. On his way there, he must pass a fence behind which jewish children are kept. One day one of them (Wood) becomes curious about what the soldier is doing, so he starts watching him pass by with the jews and coming back without them. The soldier is losing his nerve mroe and more every day because of that. He's developing some kind of conciousness of what he's doing and he doesn't like that, so he gets more violent with the jews every day. (Spoilery part now, just in case). Finally he kills the little boy in his sleep to get rid of the 'witness' to his actions. But he doesn't get rid if his prblem as another little boy starts watching him.

I suppose the film was quite ok. There are no words spoken in this film, so the actors must convey everything with facial expressions. Elijah Wood does a very good job with that. From being a curious kid to silently condemning what the soldier is doing.
By the way, I can make screencaptures from the movie if it's needed.

YoungArthur has been complaining that he's got nothing to do so I'm sure he'd love to make a gallery for this rather underrated short.

Incredible.   Totally forgetting about this short film after all these years.  It was so powerful at the time, too.  The conscience can be so strong, enough to take the life of an innocent child in a situation such as this.

Thanks for the amazing caps, bohemian.  Very, very remarkable.

Is this available on dvd somewhere?

nicolas, it's available on a VCD called Perverse Destiny 3 which was available at yesasia.com. The VCD also has other shorts on it.

It was also available on a DVD release of the same title (it was an Australian DVD). I'm not sure whether the DVD is still in print.
