Yes, that's the one -- and you bring up a great point! I was corrected once (a long time ago) when I referred to Falkor as a flying dog. (he's actually a Luck Dragon in the movie)

But what's interesting to me is that many, many people have made the same miscue -- the reason, I think, is that he looks very much like a dog! Plus, boys and dogs kind of go together, I think. Although it's clear from the dialogue that Falkor is a Luck Dragon, I still like thinking of him as a flying dog! Smiley

I believe you are right K.

I always thought of that creature as "the flying long necked dog looking thing", the Luck Dragon is much more concise, but less descriptive, don't ya think  Smiley

Cal wonder's what other characters were on the list.

Atreyu flew on the dog-dragon, but he was doing it almost all the time in the movie, but at the end Barret Oliver also did, so let's say they both flew on the dog-dragon. Movie is real good, I was dissappointed in NeverEnding story 2 and 3, 'coz actors were not so cute Smiley

I don't think I'd want to hang with Falkor. But with any luck, he'd do his business on someone else's lawn.  Roll Eyes

I too wonder what other fantasy characters were named. I'm listed as Hagrid's Helper under the avatar and that goes way back to the first Potter movie. I thought Robby Coltrane did a great job doing that gentle giant and I still enjoy his acting in Potter and other Brit TV series.

Actually, though, being friends with such a huge character who loves monsters would be hazardous to my health.

Yes, but it's been quite a while since I have and I actually had forgotten that Noah (Atreyu) also flew on Falkor quite a bit. I just instantly remembered Barret flying on him near the end of the movie. I remembered that about Atreyu later, after I had made that post. My mistake.  Smiley

I like some of their choices particularly Dr Who, Data and ET...  but I'd probably rather hang out with Superboy, Dennis the Menace, D.A.R.Y.L., Tarzan's 'Boy' or 12 year old Harry Potter.   Grin
