Another new German movie that looks promising.

Hände weg von Mississippi (Hands off Misissippi) is about ten-year-old Emma, who spends the summer holidays in the country with her much-loved grandmother Dolly. Six weeks together with her and all her animals – nothing could be better in Emma’s eyes. But some sad news is being whispered in the village: old Klipperbusch has died and now his headstrong mare Mississippi has a date with the knacker’s yard. At least that is what Klipperbusch’s nephew and heir, Albert Gansmann, has decided to do. Spontaneously, Dolly buys the horse and presents it as a gift to her granddaughter. Emma is convinced that she will be able to ride Mississippi one day, although she may have to ride a few falls on the way. But suddenly Gansmann wants to buy back the mare – because he is so fond of animals, or so he claims. Emma does not trust him, and to part from Mississippi now – that is out of the question, anyway. She and Dolly stay firm: there is no way back now! But Gansmann will not give up and soon shows his true nature....
