Wow!  Great caps Orion!  I wish the US could get a show like that... or at least air THAT one!

Thanks for taking the time to post all that!

(You may notice, I am trying to be a more active poster... at least for now, while I have some time!)

Lockie Leonard is now airing on cable in the US.
Of course, you have to have the right channel...

I don't get the channel it's shown on, so I'll probably never get to see it. It looks like it's a good show though.

From what I *have* been able to see, it looks like the US is missing out big-time.  Why are we so arrogant as to think that a serial made elsewhere isn't good enough for us?  Especially if it's *already* in "English" and doesn't even require anyone to read subtitles (as though that's such a bad thing)!  ARGHH!

In shows like this there is alot of cultural references and humor that is unique to the country perhaps the people running things in the US think that Americans just wont get it or maybe they think Americans wont be able to understand non American accents Smiley

Sadly, those folks are probably right.  "We" are out of practice at such things.  Whereas other English (and even non-English) speakers do just fine interpreting OUR (Hollywood) culture and OUR (no longer quite as) strange accent.   Angry

While that may be true Orion, I've never been anywhere near Australia and still thought the show was very good....

As a possible consolation prize for the Americans who have yet to watch Sean Keenan perform, he is supposed to have a role in the new film Nim's Island releasing on Friday, but I see IMDB has removed his name from the cast.

I thought he was going to be in it too but I watched the trailer and figured he only had a small part in it, I've never bother to watch it because I think without Sean it would be a colossal waste of time.

Sean is up for an award at this years Logies for Popular New Male Talent I imagine if he doesn't win it then Fletcher O'Leary will Cool

Well, I've been able to watch a few episodes now... what an INCREDIBLE show!  Amazing!  Funny, witty, creative, clever!  I wish someone in the US could figure out how to do all that.  (I guess there have been a few attempts, Malcolm in the Middle with Frankie Muniz comes to mind).

I don't suppose anyone here has actually READ the book Lockie Leonard: Scumbuster, the book all the shows are based on, have they?  I know it's a kids book, but maybe it's a decent read?  Just curious.  They're selling it here online (used hardcover) for under $5 (plus shipping to double the cost, of course).

*edit* the shows are apparently based on three separate novels: Human Torpedo, Scumbuster & Legend.

I've requested my library get these three books, which they say will come via interlibrary loan.  Cool.  They're out of print, or they would have actually bought them!  What a great library!
